A toolbar is displayed in the upper right on the system’s data entry forms, such as the Member form and the Employer form. If you hold the mouse over a button on the toolbar, the system will display a “tool tip”: the name of the button, a short description of what the button does, and the shortcut key (if any).
In the following paragraphs, I’ve described the function of each of the buttons. Note that not all data entry forms support all of the toolbar functions.
First: Go to the first record. For example, on the Members form this will take you to the first member, ordered alphabetically. There is no shortcut key.
Previous: Go to the previous record. For example, on the Members form this will take you to the previous member in alphabetical order. The shortcut key is Ctrl+PgUp. Note that we cannot use PgUp because it’s used to move up in various grids, such as dues, contact numbers, etc.
New: Add a new record. The shortcut key is Ctrl+n.
Save: Saves the current record to the data base. Also forces a refresh of the system’s data from the server. The shortcut key is Ctrl+s. Note that use of this feature is optional – data is automatically saved when you move to a new record, exit the system, etc.
Delete: Delete the current record. There is no shortcut key.
Find: Find a record based on data in the record, such as name, code, etc. For example, on the Members form this allows you to find a member according to their name, S.I.N., or other information. The shortcut key is Ctrl+f.
Print: Print a report on the information that’s currently on the data entry form. For example, on the Members form you can use this to print a report on the member that’s currently being displayed. What’s printed depends on the type of data entry form and options that you select. For members and employers, it’s also possible to send email – see Phone Numbers for members and Contact Name, Phone for employers to find out how email addresses must be entered.
Next: Go to the next record. For example, on the Members form this will take you to the next member in alphabetical order. The shortcut key is Ctrl+PgDn. Note that we cannot use PgDn because it’s used to move down in the various grids, such as dues, contact numbers, contract dates, etc
Last: Go to the last record. For example, on the Members form this will take you to the last member, ordered alphabetically. There is no shortcut key.
