Start New Year
When a calendar year is almost complete, you should run Start New Year to allow data entry into the next calendar year. Note that the system starts issuing warnings about this as the end of the year gets close.
Archiving
You can archive members to which you no longer require immediate access. These members are not removed from the system, but they will not appear if you search for a member by name. However, if you search for a member by SIN, they will still appear.
You select members for archiving in the same way that you select members for reporting. Often a site will archive all of the members who haven’t paid dues for a number of years, or by using some similar selection criteria.
Archived members can be permanently recalled by choosing Recall Archived Members. Members can be temporarily recalled (until the next time FSUMS is shut down and restarted) by choosing Temporarily Include Archived Members.
